As Petals Fall is the work of textile artist, Katie Whittington.

My practice is embedded in the alchemy of extracting colour from nature, a process that marries my love of textiles, slow craft and seasonal foraging: nature becoming art.

My natural dyes are made from locally foraged materials, flowers, avocado stones and botanical extracts such as indigo. I dye silk, linen and cotton and hand make ribbons, quilts and art pieces for your wall.

Growing up in the Lake District, nature has always been an inspiration to me and I find the colours I extract mirror their origins.

I have a BA hons in Textile Design and an MA with distinction in Professional Writing, both from Falmouth University. Alongside my textile practice I am also a mother, gardener and freelance writer.
